Welcome from the Chair

Welcome to the Business Banking Resolution Service’s website. We are a new service, launched in early 2021. We are here to help small businesses at the larger end of the spectrum settle unresolved complaints about their bank.

This site provides you with information about the service, whether you might be eligible, our rules and how to register with us.

We are also here to answer your questions – so please do call us on 0345 646 8825 or email us at, and one of our team can help.

There are some important aspects to our service that it is worth being aware of.

Firstly, we have an important job to do in tackling historical complaints against banks, dating back as far as 2001. If you think this part of the service might be right for you, please look at the rules and get in touch.

Secondly, we deal with more recent contemporary complaints, so we can assist if things may have gone wrong more recently.

Remember, in both cases, you have to have complained to your bank first before you come to us, and your bank needs to be one of those participating in the BBRS scheme.

Finally, we are not a court of law. Our job is to resolve cases, and, in doing so, we use a wide range of tools and techniques to get to a fair and reasonable outcome.

We do hope that we will be able to help you. We are wholly independent in our decision-making and operations. And we will always do our best to help.
